Mudzimi We Moto is committed to uplifting Zimbabwe's fire departments
and protecting the lives of all Zimbabweans.
Our Story
Mudzimi We Moto was founded by Peter Lobel, a Zimbabwean who wanted to a find a way to give back to his home country. He took action when a good friend of his tragically died as a result of a domestic fire in 2011. According to the press, the local fire brigade had responded with inadequate equipment, and most of the water had leaked out of the fire truck on the way to the scene.
Peter began to understand the dire state of the fire departments throughout Zimbabwe, and in 2011 he purchased two fire trucks from England and had them shipped to Walvis Bay, Namibia. From there, Peter recruited his childhood friends to drive the trucks with him across the continent and finally donated them to the Harare Fire Department in Zimbabwe.
Mudzimi We Moto, meaning "the men who fight fire," was born.
Since then, Peter has donated 19 municipal vehicles to departments across Zimbabwe, and is committed to improving these communities through fire safety. His vehicles continue to save lives every day.
